Re: Can I create two-way channel communication heirarchies?

N8LHG: Thanks for your helpful reply. I suspected that Mumble's channel "Link" facility would be part of the solution, but I cannot find a clear definition of the purpose of that "Link" facility anywhere in the documentation, and the associated behavior of the UI is completely bewildering to me. To ...

Can I create two-way channel communication heirarchies?

HI. I want to create three channels like this: __Mission1BlueTeam | Mission1All-----| |__Mission1RedTeam Players tuned to "Mission1All" should be able to communicate in both directions with people on all three of those channels, transmitting to everybody and hearing everything happening in any of th...

Re: How do I adjust the volume?

We need more details. Many of the acoustic volume settings are dominated by your operating system. Are you using Windows, Linux, Macintosh? And when you refer to "volume" are you talking about what you want to hear coming out of your own speakers? Or a headset? Or are you talking about the volume of...

Re: Inconsistent problem that is plaguing my Mumble experience.

That sounds like packet loss to me. Is something temporarily saturating your Internet connection (somebody watching video or something)?

Re: How to: Join Channel with ShortCut

The "Linux Air Combat" (or "LAC") community uses Mumble pretty much the way you intend to use it. In addition, a lot of even more advanced Mumble interfaces have been coded into Linux Air Combat. To train that community, I put together a comprehensive "YouTube" movie clip showing all of this. It pow...

Re: Why keybinds disappear regurarly ?

Kissaki, you wrote: "There's been work for allowing exporting and importing shortcuts. But it looks like that did not land in 1.3 yet." That's GREAT NEWS! I hope this enhancement is expedited. It will be of great benefit to my little community of users. I routinely configure LAC for them, and it's t...

Re: Why keybinds disappear regurarly ?

I use the LINUX version. Recently I have upgraded to version 1.3.0 and my experience with that new version is limited. However, I have extensive experience, on LINUX, with old version 1.2.3. With that version, loss of keybindings was so commonplace that I created a "Frequently Asked Questions" artic...

Re: When Mumble V1.2.3 clients talk to Mumble V1.3.0 clients

I have decided to abandon my long-beloved, stable, stodgy LINUX distro for access to more updated applications like Mumble (and many others). I will miss dear old PcLinuxOS! But my experiments with Manjaro indicate it is a better answer to my current needs. I am converting my entire development lab ...

Re: When Mumble V1.2.3 clients talk to Mumble V1.3.0 clients

Yes. I am using a Debian derivative Linux distro. Although my version is fairly recent (Mar2019) their version of Mumble has not been updated in several years, and this particular distro is conservative about component upgrades. It wouldn't surprise me to find that they haven't updated those librari...

Re: When Mumble V1.2.3 clients talk to Mumble V1.3.0 clients

Kissaki: Thanks for your attention. You wrote: "CELT 0.7 is the fallback interoperability codec. 1.2 and 1.3 are fully compatible with that." This implies that my old 1.2.3 clients should be able to use CELT 0.7 for operational compatibility with the new 1.3.0 client "1.2.3 introduced CELT 0.11, and...
