Attempting to use the 1.2.4 client instead of the 1.2.3

I am still getting the following:

Mumble DXGI Window: mumble.exe - Application Error

The instruction at 0x0020cb5c referenced memory at 0x0020cb5c. The memory could not be written. Click OK to terminate the program.

I can sometimes get the client to run if I run as administrator and load it in Windows XP SP3 mode, and various sound options become unavailable by default.
