world of warcraft causes buzz/hum in mumble

Our guild in WoW uses mumble. We got a new guild member with an odd issue: When WoW is the foreground program and he speaks (using a push to talk key), there is a noticeable hum or buzz. Almost like a rattling fan behind him or even a model airplane buzzing around. He demonstrated to us that when he minimizes warcraft or brings another window to the foreground, the noise goes away.

Any ideas what could cause this?

I don't know his setup, not even if he is running a windows machine or a mac, but I can ask.

Does WOW use the mic somehow?

Maybe try turning all WoW audio off and see if the issue persists!?

You're right. It's his fan. When wow is in the background the fan turns off automatically. Get a real mic (not internal) and/or computer (not laptop).
