Raspberry pi server trouble

After some struggles I managed to install and configure the mumble server on my PI. The trouble I am having is that when ever I try to configure my mumble-server.ini file it opens blank. The command I used was "sudo nano /ect/mumble-server.ini" and I get a text editor program but the file is blank. I have tried this several times with fresh images and downloads of wheezy to no avail. help?
