mczon
Hi allHaven't used mumble for a while but started playing online with some friends again and now for some reason I am not able to start the application. What happens is that I instantly gets to a crash-report thingy.I have tried reinstalling and also tried the snapshot but seems to get the same issue but I stumbled upon this crash report and was wondering if anyone here could make heads or tails out of it and maybe help me out (it is in swedish but maybe it can help anyway and I tried to translate some of it. For instance seems to be an issue with nvwgf2um.dll... but I am not that good to know how to fix dlls :)).Thanks in advanced! Administrators kissaki Posted August 5, 2013 Administrators Share Posted August 5, 2013 According to http://www.shouldiblockit.com/nvwgf2um.dll-1397.aspx nvwgf2um.dll is from nvidia.Crashes often indicate faulty drivers.Try reinstalling your graphics and/or chipset drivers. mczon
Hmm, I tried to reinstall my graphics drivers to no avail. I removed everything with the name NVIDIA in it and after reinstalling it still crashes... Is it safe to remove the dll for hand and then reinstall all drivers? Shouldn't they reinstall the dll as well if I reinstall the drivers?
mczon
It seems something have happened in the later versions of the drivers, I rolled back from 320 somthing to 306 and now it works. I will try and see if I can get a responce from NVIDIA about this and if I get an answer I can post it here if anyone else stumbles upon this error. But quick fix, rollback to 306.97 seems to solve the issue.
mczon
Hi againI have been mailing NVIDIA about this issue back and forth for a while now and starting to get some help but I was wondering if I could get some from here as well? The thing is I tried to install teamspeak to see if the same issue was there as well and it seems that their overlay Overwolf also crashes the same way as mumble and this got me thinking that it might be related to the overlay funktion in mumble.So... I wanted to ask if anyone here knows a program that uses a similar overlay as mumble so that I can see if these programs also crashes the same way and if so inform NVIDIA so they migth get more eager to quickly fix this bug :)Write you later / mczon
Administrators kissaki Posted September 21, 2013 Administrators Share Posted September 21, 2013 Did you try disabling the overlay then, to see if if works then?Steam provides an overlay. No idea if their injection code is similar.
mczon
Ahh, should have posted that :)Yea, I tried disableing the overlay in the settings (atleast I unchecked the overlay option) and it still crashes. I am probably just grasping at straws but since another overlay crashed I thought that maybe mumbles overlay was to merged with the program itself in some way. Thanks for the tip on the steam overlay, sadly (or maybe good? :)) it didnt crash. Maybe its something because they start the games in steam and mumble and overwolf overlay comes from a third program so to speak... well, will look into this further, thanks again for the tip.
