distresseddamsel
I'm new to mumble, but have gone through the setup wizard already. I use the SK Plyr 1 headset. When Mumbe is set up to work properly, I loose my game audio. When Mumble is turned off, I get game audio through my headset just fine. If I change any settings, mumble quits working. I'm not sure what the problem could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Administrators kissaki Posted September 11, 2014 Administrators Share Posted September 11, 2014 Exclusive mode deactivated?
distresseddamsel
If I deactivate exclusive mode, I loose the ability for other users to hear me speak in mumble, though I can hear them through my headset.
Administrators kissaki Posted September 11, 2014 Administrators Share Posted September 11, 2014 You want exclusive mode deactivated in the Audio Output settings.Using exclusive mode in the Audio Input settings should be fine (if you don't want to use the mic in-game). distresseddamsel
When exclusive mode is deactivated in Audio Output settings, other people can hear me, but I can neither hear them, nor do they light up when they are actively speaking. When exclusive mode is activated, I can hear others and they can hear me just fine, myself and others light up when actively speaking, but I get no game audio no matter what game I am playing. Administrators kissaki Posted September 12, 2014 Administrators Share Posted September 12, 2014 Check that your system audio levels did not lower or mute Mumble.
distresseddamsel
I'm using windows 8.1 and upgraded to the newest version of mumble

distresseddamsel
I don't have a spot for Mumble in my Volume Mixer. I currently have Mumble running, and this is what I see when my mixer is open:
distresseddamsel
I checked settings, and I don't show anything muting Mumble.
distresseddamsel
I take that back, I pulled up the volume mixer just now and I see it in there:
Administrators kissaki Posted September 14, 2014 Administrators Share Posted September 14, 2014 In your Mumble Audio settings, what System do you use? not WASAPI?
distresseddamsel
WASPI is the only option I have, the drop-down is greyed out. Here's screenshots of my input and output:
Administrators kissaki Posted September 15, 2014 Administrators Share Posted September 15, 2014 If you're using WASAPI it should be listed.I hope you're not running Mumble as admin, are you?
distresseddamsel
I honestly know nothing about WASAPI, this is the first I have heard of it. Should it be greyed-out like this? I am not running Mumble as an administrator.
Administrators kissaki Posted September 15, 2014 Administrators Share Posted September 15, 2014 WASAPI is the standard windows audio API since Windows 7 (or probably Vista). So it's perfectly fine to be the only one.I see you found it - second mixer screenshot. So … yeah …
distresseddamsel
So, do I have some settings wrong? I don't understand what the problem could be.
distresseddamsel
Looks like I discovered the issue with the help of some friends. Right-click on the mumble executable and select compatibility mode, choose Windows XP SP3. This completely resolved my problem and I am receiving game audio and mumble communication 100%. I hope this helps anyone else similarly suffering from this situation!
Administrators kissaki Posted September 24, 2014 Administrators Share Posted September 24, 2014 I guess your audio device is DirectSound now, instead of WASAPI?
