a3dollabil
Excuse the ignorance upfront, but I've thus far stumbled my way into downloading the client, connecting to a pre-arranged server that I have admin rights to and creating a channel, but the channels disappear after I create them and move to another channel (btw, letting anyone create channels is a brilliant idea). Also, I can't grant access for other users to create channels. Have I missed something here? I have attempted to fiddle with Murmur, but all the documentation hasn't enlightened my plight. Thanks in advance.
Administrators kissaki Posted June 21, 2010 Administrators Share Posted June 21, 2010 Did you creat temporary channels maybe?http://mumble.sourceforge.net/ACL_and_Groupshttp://mumble.sourceforge.net/ACL_Tutorial/English
a3dollabil
I've gone through both of those links, and it seems to be an issue with the account. I log in as the admin, I can create the channels, but I don't understand why they disappear. And why can't I set it so others can make their own? Also, those are outdated editorials. Administrators kissaki Posted June 21, 2010 Administrators Share Posted June 21, 2010 So, you don't make them temporary? You didn't answer that question.Did you check, when logged in, that you/your account is in the admin group of the Root channel, which has permissions on all ACLs? a3dollabil
I wasn't given an option to make the channels temporary or permanent, so I am really not too sure exactly how to answer the question. And how would I know I have permissions in the Root channel?
Administrators kissaki Posted June 22, 2010 Administrators Share Posted June 22, 2010 I linked to the ACL-Info pages.Richt click the root channel, click edit ACL, check that you're in the admin group and that the admin group has full permissions (and check that no other ACL overwrites the admin-group one). valium104
When you click "add" in Root, when window pops up make sure that "temporary" isnt checked. Also, in Root ACL just allow group "@all" (without quotes) to create channels.
