upgraded from 1.2.5 to 1.2.8, now doesn't open

I was using mumble (version 1.2.5) normally and was working perfectly. decided to upgrade to the latest version 1.2.8, and it now does not open. Not in taskbar, not in system tray, but is in task manager.

I can't end the process from the task manager, it just stays there.


I have tried:

restarting

reinstalling

installing to another folder

deleting appdata/roaming/mumble folder and reinstalling


the result of reinstalling is the same.
