Can't change volume at all.

I am running Windows 8, Mumble 1.2.8. The audio output never responds to the volume slider at all. It can be set to 0% or 200% and it's exactly the same either way. It wouldn't be such a problem, but it's quite a bit quieter than the games I play. I've tried uninstalling and poking around a lot of the settings, but nothing has helped so far.

Can anybody help me?

The slider should definitely control the volume. For example, if you set it to 0, nothing should be played back. Is that not the case for you?

Note that you have to click Apply before the volume change is propagated.
