Issues giving permissions

My friend has admin rights on a mumble server that my other friend hosts. The problem is there are rooms that require permissions to enter. Whenever he goes in and attempts to give me those elevated permissions, my username does not appear on the drop down menu and cannot be added manually. Does anyone know of a fix to this?

As mentioned in the reddit thread, check you're actually registered. You can't assign permissions or groups to unregistered users.

Full disclosure: I used to run a commercial Mumble host, and my opinions do not reflect the opinions of the Mumble project.
