All audio disabled when selection "Multichannel" in "echo".

I have (and have always had) Multichannel selected (and I'm using make 1.2.10). All audio becomes disabled, meaning I am unable to: queue in, hear sounds, speak, or have any indication that any of that is happening, and the only reason I know that there is an error is because my mouth-icon doesn't light up when pressing push to talk. It doesn't work in either state of positional audio (on/off) or any state of voice activity (cont./activity/ptt), or any combination. What's the deal? It doesn't produce a criticial error, so I can't provide you with any logs, so, this is really all the information I can think to provide you.
