Mumble S**ts on my sound quality.

Any time I have every installed Mumble on my computer my sound quality on any program(chrome, youtube, pandora, spotify, video games) just goes to shit. Bass is super low quality and bad sounding and loudness just crackles. I have high quality 5.1 surround sound speakers and high quality headphones and everything just sounds shitty any time I install Mumble. Uninstalling fixes my problem but my guild switched to Mumble and I have 1 of 2 choices, leave the guild I've been playing with for 5 years or try and figure out how to get Mumble to work right. I've looked online for a week to try and find a fix and I just can't seem to find anyone else that's had my or a similar problem. I've tried other random fixes to see if it just happened to fix mine but nothing's worked so far. Please help!!!! :(

Can you post output from dxdiag?

Do you really mean that just Mumble being *installed* messes with it? As in Mumble's not running? I suspect if that's the case your soundcard isn't as high quality as you think it is.

Full disclosure: I used to run a commercial Mumble host, and my opinions do not reflect the opinions of the Mumble project.

Mumble does not change anything on other programs settings, audio levels or quality.

So it either has to be your OS or sound driver.

Mumble is a VoIP and as such, the OS may adjust some settings while Mumble is running (prioritize it, or lower other volumes according to your system settings).

As for audio drivers, god knows what some sound card providers do in that area …

If you could elaborate on your problem, so we can more closely identify the culprit?
