Unable to bind anything to side mouse buttons

i recently switched from a Logitech m510 to a m500 corded, and since i switched i am unable to bind push to talk and deafen to the side mouse buttons 4 and 5. My other mouse lets me do this, but i would rather be using this new mouse because its corded, while my old one isn't. I'm currently using Windows 10 and i would really like to get this working so any suggestions that i could try would be helpful.


Ive tried binding mouse 4 and 5 to keyboard keys in my mouse settings, and then binding those keys to PTT and deafen in mumble. This didn't work for mumble BUT it did work for discord, which is really strange.
