alkane
I loved mumble although I have certain problems with the understanding of how to install it and be able to create several instances, I mean, I have 3 communities and I want to create split mumble servers but all on the same server, I currently see options like Yuli Murmur but the truth is still I can not decipher how this works. Any guidance on how to make all this work?
Administrators kissaki Posted October 4, 2018 Administrators Share Posted October 4, 2018 Glad to hear you love Mumble! You can run servers fine with individual processes, configuration and databases.Using virtual servers in one process, configuration and database indeed requires you to make use of third party scripts/interfaces. Unfortunately we do not have a native interface to this functionality.Unfortunately I do not know what the landscape looks like - what might be a good suggestion. I can only point you to our wiki* Web Interfaces https://wiki.mumble.info/wiki/3rd_Party_Applications#Web-Interfaces* Command Line Interfaces https://wiki.mumble.info/wiki/3rd_Party_Applications#Commandline-InterfacesDo you know your way around scripting? This is making me a bit confusing and difficult, I tried to install the interface as 200 times, and I'm really tired, is there a manual to install all this? What I want to do is the following:Install Mumble: ReadyInstall MumPI: 200 errors in everything.I did not even bother to check the log, I just eliminated everything. Administrators kissaki Posted November 1, 2018 Administrators Share Posted November 1, 2018 I’m actually the author of MumPI. I’ve given up making it run on on newer (Ubuntu) systems. ZeroC Ice was just not really managable. After packages were finally available I put in some time and effort again, but eventually gave up and marked the project as unmaintained. So I'm not sure if it even runs with your version of PHP and php-ice - if you're using newer versions.Anyway, if the opened webpage does not give you information you will have to check the php error log for hints. petrus
Mumble is running absolutely fine on a RPi 1B, and I'm so happy to use it with community :)Yulli is connecting to this instance without problem with ICE.But if you don't have any secure connection, ICE is using a clear channel to send the password... On a previous setup, I was able to install OpenVPN to manage Murmur through this secure connection.Today, the Murmur is on a LAN behind a router, that I can connect to, so it's ok to manage it with Yulli Mur, no problem if the password is travelling in clear, or OpenVPN can help to connect from outside. Not yet tried with SSH available option in Yulli Mur...
