Administrators kissaki Posted December 13, 2020 Administrators Share Posted December 13, 2020 Hello, in your server configuration check for the setting names starting with register. https://wiki.mumble.info/wiki/Murmur.ini#Server_Registration
Kamey
can the registerHostname= be the domain over dns like registerHostname=mumble.name.topleveldomain or it must be the numeric static ip?
Administrators davidebeatrici Posted December 13, 2020 Administrators Share Posted December 13, 2020 Domains are supported, currently with A and AAAA records.

Kamey
Ah i see it it's in the Finland, there's no Serbia as the Option for the Servers and in The list, how to get Serbia added on the list?
Administrators davidebeatrici Posted December 14, 2020 Administrators Share Posted December 14, 2020 If you don't see Serbia in the list is because there are no servers hosted in it, the public server list determines the country from the server's IP address. We're considering adding a setting to specify which languages are accepted on the server: https://github.com/mumble-voip/mumble/issues/3328
Kamey
yeah but i want the server to be in Serbia even tho it's not hosted there, so that the people form Serbia join the Server, no other way around i don't want it to rank the server by it's IP, it's not good, there must be added a setting that gives you the ability to specify the country you want your server to show in. Administrators davidebeatrici Posted December 17, 2020 Administrators Share Posted December 17, 2020 The setting already exists, it's called registerLocation. From https://github.com/mumble-voip/mumble/issues/3328#issuecomment-728637315: Quote I propose to rely on GeoIP for the server categorization, drop registerLocation and implement a field that defines the accepted languages. That way a user can easily distinguish between servers that are closer and servers on which the desired language is effectively accepted. What do you think about that? Administrators kissaki Posted December 19, 2020 Administrators Share Posted December 19, 2020 To clarify/elaborate: The categorization is currently location based, not language/usage based. This is also indicated by the wording like location and and country rather than language. As davide pointed out and linked corresponding tickets we are aware of language and intention use cases, and are discussing them there, and considering adding functionality for it.
