This means that the certificate of the server is self-signed. Nothing to be scared off it is just a warning and probably very common warning when logging onto a new server.

Most personal murmur servers are running with a self-signed certificate, because of the extra effort needed to get a StartCom certificate.

It was a bit unclear to me what you mend by "mumble off". But that mumble crashes or exits when you connect to a server can have multiple reasons and is probably unrelated to the warning message of the certificate.

Could you run the audio wizard to see if your audio device is running properly.

But before I continue with the list please check if the audio device is working as expected. And could you also provide your OS and mumble version, so we can narrow the search for your problem.
