Mumble crashes on startup. [USB Headset]

Well a few weeks back I bought a new USB headset, this one to be precise. (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stereo-USB-Skype-Gaming-PC-Headset-Mute-Volume-Controls-/130656288136?pt=UK_VideoGames_VideoGameAccessories_VideoGameAccessories_JN&hash=item1e6bb8bd88)

Well, when I got it, I plugged it in, and it installed it's driver just fine, I went to launch Mumble, and a crash report will come up, asking if I want to send a crash report to Mumble, when I send it, Mumble loads up to the server selection screen, then just crashes, and Windows says: "Mumble has stopped responding"

If I unplug me headset, then launch Mumble it's fine, then if I then plug it in, it will just crash.

This happens to most other applications, including games and other voice communication software.

The headset is USB

I'm on Windows XP.

Please help.

I’d have suggested that it’s a driver issue.

That other applications have that issue as well strongly supports this claim.

AFAIK USB Headsets with integrated soundcards often have this issue - bad and flawed drivers.

If that is an option for/with your headset, you may want to try not using the official driver, but a system provided one.

Or better yet, uninstall and update your drivers, if that is an option, and try that.

How it should be an issue with Mouse or Keyboard – no idea.

But generally, making Mumble crash is the fault of drivers. So maybe those system drivers are also problematic.
