jjjidea
i think mumble only run with dx9, not DX11.Wow 5.0.4, run with DX11 if you don't choose.Go in the options of the launch panel and choose dx9.I have'nt any problem with dX9. lgweaver
I tried this since looking through the forums i noted a similar issue with, and that hasn't fixed it. and crippling graphics in a game to use the overlay isn't a really good thing either. why isn't mumble updating to dx11? Administrators kissaki Posted September 2, 2012 Administrators Share Posted September 2, 2012 It’s effort. There is a working code-base which needs the direct3d sdk samples code though, because MS moved the effects library, which the overlay uses, which was in Direct3D in DX9 out of the core library. And as it is in the sample code, which is covered by the DX SDK license … it’s not in Mumbles official source codebase yet. ywfn
The overlay only works on 32-bit DX9. If you are using the 64-bit version of WoW, or have the API set to DX11, it won't work. Personally, the patch reset my settings to 64-bit (in the launcher) and DX11 (in the in-game config), check both of them.
lgweaver
Thank you for telling me how to cripple WoW to get Mumble to work. Guess I'll just have to have to wait for Mumble to get the overlay working with modern systems. I'm not willing to loose the performance increases that dx11 and 64bit have made to WoW. ywfn
Yep, your choice. Personally I prefer having the overlays.
Administrators kissaki Posted September 5, 2012 Administrators Share Posted September 5, 2012 Thank you for telling me how to cripple WoW to get Mumble to work. You meant the overlay of Mumble. Mumble works perfectly fine without the overlay and no matter your WoW settings.
lgweaver
1/2 of mumble works with WoW on correct settings. the 1/2 that tells me who's talking doesn't, and that's as important as hearing them.
