Problem with sound in mumble

Occasionally while using mumble on my laptop, it randomly stops transmitting my voice and I stop receiving voice from everyone else, however it still accurately shows when people move rooms and chat.

I have tried re-installing and running in compatibility mode.

Does anyone know what may be causing this problem? My best guess was that my internet was dropping mumble, but then I was confused as to why I could see people move and chat.

Voice is transmitted via the UDP protocol.

Control-/Metadata via TCP.

Thus, it makes sense that one could be blocked, and the other not.

Try disabling QoS. Maybe it’s a faulty router.

If that does not help, try TCP-only mode.

If that helps, it’s not really a good solution, but shows us that indeed UDP transmission is the problem.
