PTT trouble on Mac

I have been using Mumble for over a year on my iMac w/o any trouble until today. I noticed that my PTT key wasn't working so I tried to reset it to something different and found that I can't set anything besides modifier keys like shift, ctrl, or option. I made sure that I have "enable assistive devices" checked. I am running Moutain Lion and have an extended Apple USB keyboard.
