this is the error I am receiving while trying to connect to Guild's mumble server.

This is what I have done so far; removed/fresh install mumble, reloaded windowsxp, bought Win 8 and loaded it yesterday-installed mumble and tried to connect to Guild's sever from hot-link on Guild's website ...nadda, zelch, zip

You are sure it is the correct server address?

When you add it to your server favorites, does it display a ping / the server as online?

Try disabling QoS in Mumbles network settings.

Yes there is a ping to the server. I disabled QoS and still same error message.

so do you have any other suggestions?

Check/ask the server admin if you are banned,

and if not, check/ask the admin to check the server log, what the server logs when you connect (does it deny your connecting?).

I'm having a similar issue with a different server.

[8:05:22 AM] Welcome to Mumble.

[8:10:24 AM] Connecting to server s8.mumble-illimity.com.

[8:10:54 AM] Server connection failed: Connection timed out.

[8:11:04 AM] Reconnecting.

[8:11:34 AM] Server connection failed: Connection timed out.

...

The difference is I don't see a ping/user count on the server list.

However, other people using the same information can connect to the server just fine.

I can connect to other Mumble servers without any problems.
