Mumble for mac AUDIO PEAKING

I know this is a really small issue, but there's this person on my server who doesn't seem to cause audio peaking when I'm using mumble on my PC, but when I switch to my Mac, this same person becomes horribly 'peaky' and I have to turn down the volume on my mumble client, which means that everyone else is quiet. There is supposed to be suppression (which works on my pc; when someone is shouting, my ears don't bleed), but it doesn't seem to be working properly on my Mac.

If it makes any difference, here are my mac's specs;

Autumn 2010 21.5" iMac running OSX 10.8.2

3.06GHz Intel Core i3

4GB 1333MHz RAM

Fully updated, with latest stable version of mumble.
